At the Lucca Center of Contemporary Art from 7 September 2019 to 7 January 2020, exhibition dedicated to Werner Bischof, entitled Werner Bischof. Classics curated by Maurizio Vanni, museologist and art historian, and Alessandro Luigi Perna, specialist and curator of photographic exhibitions.
One hundred and five shots, with images ranging from 1934 to 1954, divided into 8 sections: these are the numbers of “Werner Bischof. Classics”, an exhibition dedicated to the great Swiss photojournalist of the twentieth century.
Female nudes, investigations of nature, portraits showing an unprecedented use of light, great journeys to remote places, devastated by war or exalted by indigenous culture.
Among his best-known shots on display: the Peruvian child who plays the flute, which Bischof met in 1954, in the Andes in Peru.
Friday 6 September at 6:30 pm, opening of the exhibition by invitation.
