Wines to taste in preview and vintages that have made history for a unique oenological journey that brings to Lucca all the best productions of the Tuscan coastal territory.
The largest wine review on the Tuscan coast returns to the Real Collegio. As by tradition, there will be laboratories and master classes thanks to which it will be possible to deepen some particular types of wines. Between horizontal and vertical, this year the protagonists will be the wines that have made Tuscany famous in the world, starting from Sassicaia, and, for foreign countries, the noble French wines with Bourdeaux. In the verticals instead it will be possible to appreciate the productions of the estates of Ghizzano and of Capezzana. The workshops will be led by journalists and producers who, supported by the professionalism of the Fisar sommeliers, will accompany the participants on a journey of taste.
These are the numbers of the 18th edition of Preview of Wines of the Tuscan Coast, the highly anticipated event, organized by the Great Cru of the Tuscan Coast and by Event Service Tuscany, which will recall many ex-lovers to the former Real College of Lucca, 4 and 5 May and experts to taste the exclusive production of the vignerons of the provinces of Grosseto, Livorno, Pisa, Lucca and Massa Carrara. An appointment that this year is enriched with further novelties, the most important of which is represented by the exhibition "Artisans of Taste", the gastronomic route (with free admission) that will be developed on the ground floor offering products, foods and combinations prepared by real and own artisans of taste.
WINE PREVIEW. In the halls of the noble floor a large gala of tasting counters will be set up where it will be possible to directly meet the wine artisan. A room reserved for professionals will explore the 2018 vintage: a unique opportunity to taste the samples of the barrel from the past just passed. There will always be the most prestigious master classes. Back again this year, after the success of the 2018 edition, Sassicaia in the horizontal "2015: the great harvest". And to continue with great wineries and great vintages, those who want to participate in the horizontal harvest of Bordeaux 1998 will be accompanied to the discovery of the aging of the noble French wines. Two verticals to tell two stories of prestigious companies and prestigious Tuscan reds. The vertical of the coast “Nambrot. 1996-2016. 20 vintages ”of Tenuta di Ghizzano; "Trefiano: Vittorio's wine, 1999-2015 vintages" of the Tenuta di Capezzana. Finally a careful look will be turned to French biodynamic production, in particular to the large companies that have always operated in biodynamics, becoming stylistic and productive references for the wine world. National and international guests will accompany us on the tasting journey, supported by the professionalism of the Fisar sommeliers.
ARTISANS OF TASTE. On the ground floor, in the cloister, space instead for a new review with free admission: "Artisans of Taste", a renovated garden of flavors that joins the wine tasting, conceived and produced by Event Service Tuscany and developed by Carlo Baducci, Il Heart Receptions. A journey through the Italy of excellence, which creates original gastronomic proposals every day capable of combining tradition with research, organic with quality assurance. From cheeses to cured meats, from biscuits to desserts and the art of pastry, from rice to chestnuts and flour. And then Tuscan Coast craft beers and guided tastings to discover the secrets of the products presented. Cigar lovers will find the traditional Fumoir lounge enriched with proposals for spirits and cocktails by Mauro Picchi.
