The executioner's house is a very simple stone building, leaning on one side against the walls of Lucca. It has small, irregular windows and a large door that leads to the basement of the San Salvatore bastion.

From the corner of Arco (the intersection of Via Fillungo and Via Roma), between the tall buildings, a sliver of blue sky with the Torre delle Ore. On the tower, the face of the large eighteenth-century clock and at the top, the covered bell tower and the weathervane bearing the inscription "libertas" (liberty).

A ray of sunshine illuminates the new parish church of Santa Maria del Giudice. The white marble façade has five blind arches at the base, opening onto three doors. Above are two rows of three blind arches and a small rose window.
