60 years of history and creativity, of diversity and inclusion, of change, of evolution and metamorphosis, of art and, above all, of communities on the move.
LEGACY as an inheritance, as a passing of the baton, a real heritage of life, childhood, discoveries, culture, changes that, to quote Gianni Rodari, will allow those who want to grow to understand the grammar of the world.
The first step is the presentation of the LuccaComics&Games2026 poster, the first and only example of a meta-poster.
The author is Claudio Castellini, an absolute master of international comics and a living embodiment of the history of Lucca Comics & Games.
The characters who inhabited the festival's historic posters return to the stage, together.
There's Zerocalcare's 'Lu' who represents every visitor, Don Maitz's 'Sandokan' as a symbol of classic adventure, Phil Hale's gorilla with a robot representing transformation, Ted Nasmith's 'Lady Hope' for a hopeful look into the future, Ciruelo's dragon who, like the arrival of the event, makes the city look fantastic, and the luminous protagonist of Michael Whelan's poster who, with her simple dress, ideally dialogues with the smiling Yellow Kid, mascot and prestigious prize of the Lucca festival from the 1960s to today.
But there's more: little Louise, who will be designing the variant cover for the Lucca Comics & Games 2026 poster, received the pencil directly from Claudio Castellini. The variant cover will be presented during the inauguration of this edition, on October 28th on the stage of the Teatro del Giglio Giacomo Puccini.
The symbol of Lucca, in this edition, is the labyrinth
In the atrium of St. Martin's Cathedral, the most famous of the bas-reliefs, inscriptions, and inlays: the labyrinth of divine love, the same one depicted in the cathedrals of Northern Europe. A labyrinth where there is no luck, but where you yourself, with your determination and faith, find the way.
