Paper Week

Respect for the environment never goes on holiday! Nor does the desire to discover places and people who can share their city's stories in a fun and constructive way.

From April 13th to 19th, hundreds of initiatives will take place across cities and regions to showcase the value of a supply chain in which Italy is a European leader: paper and cardboard recycling, a cornerstone of the Italian circular economy.

Paper Week is the largest national event on paper and cardboard, recycling, training and information.

Lucca is participating and invites you to participate!

A recyclable museum

What happens if a man made of paper, devouring entire forests, discovers that there's another option besides eating tree after tree? And what happens if an entire city of people, huge consumers of paper, discovers an alternative to producing so much waste?

Wednesday April 15 at 17:00 pm at the Auditorium Library Agorà Fuori le Mura and Friday April 17 At 17:00 PM, Agorà Civic Library, a free workshop for children aged 6 and up.
The Paper-Eating Man Museum This workshop begins with a reading of the illustrated book "The Man Who Eats Paper" by Simone Baracetti. After the reading, there's time for play with different types of recycled paper and the creation of a paper library.

An inimitable book

The book by Gavia (Paola Pasqualetti) is a manuscript made of recycled paper and bound by handIt's called At Least You're Paolo's Sister - Frozen Emotions

Diego Fiorini, Artistic Director of the Ceratelli Foundation and President of the Teatro Verdi in Pisa, and the author will discuss the work on Wednesday, April 15, at 17:30 p.m. at the Agorà Civic Library Auditorium, while writer Adriana Sanna will read excerpts from the book.

an inextricable dispute

Civil disputes related to housing, construction, and ownership, and each has a different version of the same case. Through technical drawings, texts, expert reports, and ambiguous documents, each couple constructs, with paper, two parallel files: archives that never fully converge.

On Saturday, April 18th, at 16:30 PM, at the Municipal Historical Archives, participants will become parties to hypothetical civil disputes related to housing, building, and ownership. Here, we won't decide who's right. We'll observe how conflicts arise. And how space preserves them. The archive of the dispute, a free creative workshop for young people aged 15 and over to do in pairs.

A hands-on and creative experience dedicated to the technique of linocutting, Sunday, April 19th at 16:00 PM at the Municipal Historical Archives. Sign Paper and ink
Materials are selected from the Historical Archives of the Municipality of Lucca, participants are introduced to the linocut technique, or carving on linoleum for relief printing, they learn to engrave the matrix by working in negative, experimenting with textures, contrasts and decorative solutions, up to the final printing stage.
