The collection, enriched by illustrations and explanatory notes, was acquired by the company Progetto Museo srl with the collaboration of many Italian and foreign collectors and researchers.
The exhibition, entitled "Ancient European Instruments of Torture and Capital Punishment - Images and Historical Evidence from the Middle Ages to the Industrial Age” exhibits some of the most sophisticated and rare torture machines, dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries, and philological reconstructions, from the 19th and 20th centuries, of ancient and unobtainable originals.
