Villa Bottini
The sixteenth-century Villa Bottini is located in the historic center of Lucca. Built by the Buonvisi family in 1566, it was purchased in the early 800th century by Elisa Bonaparte, Napoleon's sister.

The villa hosts numerous cultural events and in the summer months the garden hosts an open-air cinema.
According to the historian Isa Belli Barsali, three architects worked on its design: the Lucchese Buontalenti and Civitali, and an unknown architect.
The rectangular plan, the large openings, the symmetries and proportions between the architectural elements make the villa one of the most beautiful and harmonious villas in Lucca.
Villa Buonvisi "in the Garden" It has considerable historical significance; in fact, it seems that its compositional scheme was taken as a model for the construction of many other villas in Lucca.
The villa, purchased at the beginning of the 900th century by the Bottini marquises and subsequently passed to the Motroni Andreozzi family and finally to the Marcheschi family, became the property of the Tuscany region which, after a lengthy restoration, sold it to the municipality of Lucca.
