A bright end to the year in the historic center of Lucca, a serene and intimate season of walks in the hills, a moment of respite and disconnection in nature in the company of old and new friends, leading us towards spring.
LuccaTrek offers a program of free excursions in collaboration with the environmental and hiking guide associations Emozionambiente, Feronia, and TrikketeTrekking, starting in mid-December and ending in March. Thirty walks beyond the walls of Lucca allow you to discover the ins and outs of a rich and welcoming region. Nature, culture, and magnificent landscapes are the protagonists of these excursions, on well-known and lesser-known trails, all bearing witness to the ancient history that has shaped the landscape around the city.
The landscapes of the Monte Pisano and Pizzorne Plateaus, the hills dotted with vineyards, olive groves, and patches of still-untamed forest. The paths of the parish churches of the Via Francigena and the Via Matildica del Volto Santo, the trenches of the Gothic Line, and so many other stories that pass through here and continue on to distant lands.
