In October, two weekends together with the FAI National Trust for Italy to discover and fall in love with the beauty of Italy. 4 appointments with the most beautiful places in Italy to allow everyone safe visits in 1,000 extraordinary places in our country. The FAI Autumn Days are organised in two weekends: 17 and 18 and 24 and 25 October. An opportunity not to be missed to discover little-known places in our country and support the mission of the FAI trust.
To ensure the perfect organisation of the event, from 6 October thanks to a donation it is possible to book the visit on the website www.giornatefai.it. Reservations are strongly recommended, but not mandatory.
You can also register at FAI before the event and ensure your access to the openings reserved for FAI members. Possibility of registration to FAI also on the spot during the weekends of the event.

In the program on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th of October

10:00 am / 6:00 pm - Church of S. Caterina. Via del Crocifisso at the corner of Via Vittorio Emanuele - Lucca
11:00 am - 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm: Guided tours reserved for FAI members. The visit includes a small organ concert and "the suspended fresco", depicting the glory of Saint Catherine.
The Church of Santa Caterina is known as the Sigaraie Church for locals and it was built in the first half of the eighteenth century by Francesco Pini; it is the greatest example of a religious Baroque building in Lucca. The church takes its name from the large oval canvas depicting "The Ecstasy of Santa Caterina" by Pompeo Batoni, now preserved in the Palazzo Mansi Museum.

10:00 am / 6:00 pm - Oratory of the Guardian Angels. Via degli Angeli Custodi, 30 - Lucca
Built in 1638 on a design by the architect Vincenzo Paoli, its interior part, a single nave with a barrel vault, is decorated with frescoes and stuccoes including canvases, made between the second half of the seventeenth century and the beginning of the eighteenth century.

2.30 pm / 5.30 pm - Vetriano theater. Loc. Carraia - Pescaglia (LU)
Guided tour of about 20 minutes. Reservations required by writing to faivetriano@fondoambiente.it.
Possibility to admire the little theater as it was at the end of the nineteenth century with a stage of just 30 square meters, a parterre of only 60 seats and a beautiful painted curtain. After a careful restoration, it has come back to life to host prestigious performances such as opera reductions in collaboration with the Teatro alla Scala Academy.
