Nature and Sport

Trails, cultures, art, and nature in the Lucca countryside

A woman in a blue dress and a white hat rides her bicycle on the banks of the Serchio River. Beyond the banks are poplars, and in the distance, Nozzano Castle.

A relaxing stroll through the countryside, enjoying the seasonal colors of Lucca's countryside, or an adrenaline-filled ride along the Serchio River to the sea. Then, in the evening, a concert in the historic center in the company of old friends, or those who will become new friends and with whom we will forever share a fantastic holiday in Lucca.

THE RIVER

The Lucca countryside begins just outside the city walls.

A dense network of hiking and cycling trails of varying difficulty crisscrosses the region, passing through protected and natural areas where you can relax in complete safety. Here, you can appreciate the many shades of green, the farms producing quality produce, the river that flows through the city, now equipped as an urban park, family walks and sports alone or with friends, villages where traditions are alive and well, and the many opportunities to combine culture and sport.

Water, land, and air, a landscape constantly evolving in its colors, vegetation, scents, and panoramas, yet always welcoming to those who love outdoor activities, from simple jogging to canoeing down the Serchio River to the sea. From wild horseback excursions through the woods and plains to motorbike rides on the slopes of Monte Pisano and the Pizzorne plateau. From walks along ancient paths to breathtaking hang-gliding flights.
