2020: Elisa 200 years is the annual calendar of initiatives conceived and organized by the association "Napoleon and Elisa: from Paris to Tuscany" to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the death of the princess of Lucca, which took place on 7 August 1820 in Trieste.
As part of the celebrations, The Mint Museum of Lucca offers permanent and temporary exhibitions. The library, the laboratory, the historic workshop and some vintage machinery. A location testifying to the greatness of Lucca with an interesting amount of documents, coins and medals. The Mint of Lucca is the oldest and enduring in Europe: it minted coins from 650 to 1843.
From 10 October 2020 to 31 May 2021, the exhibition entitled La Memoria del Bello. Dalla collezione dell'antica Zecca di Lucca, la produzione di una manifattura lucchese dell'Ottocento (From the collection of the ancient Mint of Lucca, the production of a nineteenth-century Lucchese manufacture) will be set up in the Mint museum and in the little museum behind the San Francesco church.
