Some discoveries about Matteo Civitali is the exhibition open on march 28 to june 20 that tells the restoration of the sculpture representing a bust of Christ with the crown of thorns ('Salvator Coronatus').
The aim of the exhibition is to give visibility to the novelties that emerged from the investigations carried out and to enhance the recognition and restoration of the unpublished works by Matteo Civitali, making them dialogue with other works by the sculptor from Lucca and with some Italian and Flemish paintings.
The exhibition is preceded Saturday, March 7th
3:30 pm - Auditorium of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni | The 'Salvator Coronatus' of Santa Maria Corteorlandini. Conference and presentation to the public of the unpublished work by Matteo Civitali "Salvator Coronatus", curated by Valentino Anselmi.
The work will be discovered and presented to the public, with an extensive report by the restorers, the curator and the diagnostician Therry Radelet. The work will remain on display in the auditorium for the entire day.
The event will conclude with a cocktail party.
