The adventures of Pinocchio, the fantasy character among the most loved by children, are at the center of the visual story that the Pisan artist Marcello Scarselli has chosen for his Lucca exhibition sponsored by the Carlo Collodi National Foundation.

"Burattino senza fili" (puppet with no wires), edited by Maurizio Vanni and Filippo Lotti, is in fact the title of the solo show that will be on display in Lu.C.C.A. Lounge & Underground.

The world of Pinocchio, with its characters and places, is used as a pretext by Marcello Scarselli for conveying messages linked to ethical and moral sense, to expressive freedom, to instinct, to asymmetrical thought, to enterprise, to inner research and to the existential comparison. Therefore, there is no desire on his part to illustrate Collodi's story, but to use the fable as a mirror of the contradictions of the society of the here and now, projecting however beyond or towards the search for more stable and certain values.

To discover the creative path that led Scarselli to carry out this cycle of works, a meeting with the artist and the two curators will be held on Saturday 15 June 2019 at 18.30.
