Workshops and educational activities in museums, archaeological parks and places of culture in the weekend and, on Saturday 26 September, late night opening with admission ticket at the symbolic cost of 1 euro. An extraordinary visit to celebrate the European heritage days 2020, the biggest and most popular cultural event in Europe.

 

Lucca cannot miss the appointment with initiatives in museums and open air to celebrate this day.

 

On Saturday 26 September the beautiful rooms and the history of silk in Lucca's National Museum of Palazzo Mansi will be open to the public with admission every hour from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
In the evening, from 7.30 am to 9.30 pm (last admission) and with admission every hour, extraordinary opening at the symbolic cost of 1 euro.

(Reservation is not required)

 

The National Museum of Villa Guinigi will also be open to the public with admission every hour from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

At 3.30 pm, the concert of the La Pittura che suona festival is included in the admission ticket. Dialogues between Music and Art, curated by Linda Severi, Stefano Albarello and the Concentus Lucensis association, and to follow a themed guided tour, by the staff of the Museum, dedicated to "The Villa and its history, Music at the time of Paolo Guinigi", with historical-artistic and musical insights.

From 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm (last admission) visits every hour at the symbolic cost of 1 euro.

In the State Archives of Lucca, Il fascino del Brigante (the charm of the brigand), a unique exhibition of postcards and unpublished letters received by the brigand Giuseppe Musolino during his detention in the San Giorgio prison (from April to July 1902). The trial had an international media coverage. It was in that occasion that, for the first time, that emerging psychiatric science got importance in the court in search of new methods of investigation that could explain the case of Musolino, between crime and social justice, madness and lucid premeditation.
The exhibition is open from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm with guided tours at 3:30 pm, 4:30 pm, 5:30 pm.

Finally, for those who prefer staying outdoors, two guided tours (in Italian and English) to discover the great architectural heritage, as well as museums, of the city.

On Saturday 26 September the Magica Lucca by night tour starts at 9:00 pm from Piazza Cittadella.

On Sunday 27 September, departure at 9:30 am from Porta Santa Maria for the Luccaxtutti tour, a handicap accessible itinerary organized by the National Association of Italian Tourist Guides GIT.
