Dante 700

Throughout Italy and the world Dante's genius is remembered this year with particular love and attention as it is the seven hundredth anniversary of the Supreme Poet's death.

Dante travelled and lived in different places like Florence, Verona and Ravenna, where he stayed until his death. But he also lived in Rome, Arezzo, Pisa, Bologna, Forlì ... and probably even in Lucca, mentioned several times in the Divine Comedy not only with words of appreciation, but he certainly knew the Serchio river, the city wall, and a series of local characters met during his journey.

3 promenades in spring

In these first sunny days we all love to pass our time outdoors again, to go for a walk or cycling.
Let's start with three classic spring tours.

1 - a walk in the "urban forest"

... or rather the city wall of Lucca. In 1800, two great women transformed the mighty defensive structure into a long tree-lined promenade and the ramparts into gardens with elegant groves.

14^ th edition of Carta d'Epoca, a print and ancient book fair. The event is back again in Lucca on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 October in the cultural center Agora, in piazza dei Servi.

Carta D’Epoca is organised by the city of Lucca in collaboration with operators of the branch, in particular book - and printsellers.
On display works of prestige by Italian exhibitors, antiques experts, specialized in vintage books and prints from all over Italy essential in the antiquarian tradition of the city.
