Lucca protagonist of the twentieth century: in the exhibition at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni the works of Giuseppe Ardinghi and Mari Di Vecchio told by paintings, drawings and words of authorship in 90 works on display from 14 December 2019 to 26 January 2020 in the exhibition that Fondazione Lucca Sviluppo and Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lucca, in collaboration with the Polo Museale della Toscana and the Municipality of Lucca, dedicate to this artistic couple of the twentieth century and their cultural environment, which has expressed names such as Guglielmo Petroni, Arrigo Benedetti and Mario Tobino.

The exibhit is an itinerary of about 90 works divided into six sections:
Giuseppe Ardinghi and Mari Di Vecchio: training and national and international exhibition experiences;
a family of artists: Carolina Triglia Di Vecchio and Giorgina Di Vecchio Bertolucci;
the Lucca group and friends of Caffè Di Simo;
the second post-war period and the return to Lucca;
two cartoons for the stained-glass windows of the Cathedral of San Martino;
the commitment to history and art criticism (testimonies and contributions).

The works come from various collections, including the works of the "Lucca group" of friends of Caffè Di Simo, including Guglielmo Petroni, Domenico Lazzareschi, three sketch sculptures by Geatano Scapecchi and two paintings by Leone Lorenzetti and Cesare Olivieri.a cura di Alessandra Trabucchi, professor of Literature, expert in the management of cultural events and member of the Board of Directors of the Fondazione Centro Studi Licia and Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti of Lucca. It is part of a series of exhibitions dedicated to the rediscovery of the artists of our territory, with two names that are deeply linked, whose works have been exhibited in high level contexts and have received great recognition, and equally deeply connected to the rich national cultural fabric of the mid-twentieth century.

As part of the exhibition, which will last until 26 January, a series of in-depth meetings open to all, both on artists and the literary environment of the twentieth century, curated by Giovanni Ricci.

Thursday 16th January
5:30 pm "Ardinghi, journalist and art critic", by Alessandra Trabucchi, guest journalists Mario Rocchi and Paolo Pacini; moderator Anna Benedetto.

Wednesday, January 22nd
3:30 p.m. guided tour of the exhibition
5:30 pm "Mario Tobino", with Isabella Tobino and Marco Vanelli, in collaboration with Cineforum Cinit Ezechiele 25,17.
21:00 Auditorium of Palazzo delle Esposizioni - concert by pianist Bruno Canino and violinist Paolo Ardinghi

The exhibition is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
