"The artist as a child: childhood and primitivism in Italian art of the early twentieth century" is the new exhibition of the Ragghianti Foundation, curated by Nadia Marchioni, which explores the "regression" towards childish design and the desire to recover a primitivist language by important artists of the early decades of the twentieth century.

Starting from the archaisms of Tuscan painters devoted to the study of the masters of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, the exhibition develops an exciting journey through the works of artists fascinated by the world of children, of which they take - in various forms and styles - simplicity, poetry and softness of the colors and the subjects represented.

In the exhibition halls of the  Foundazione Ragghianti are exhibited, divided into six sections, over one hundred pieces (paintings, graphics, sculptures, photographs, period magazines, documents) of artists such as Giorgio Morandi, Giacomo Balla, Pablo Picasso, Carlo Carrà, Giorgio de Chirico, Mario Sironi, Ardengo Soffici, Alberto Magri, Lorenzo Viani, Ottone Rosai, Renato Birolli and Alberto Salietti.

On Saturday 23 March, Saturday 6 April, Saturday 11 May from 16.00 to 17.00 and 30.00 (or on request for groups of at least 15 children), the Foundation proposes an "In Mostra" educational workshop for children over 6 years of age. entitled Cucù! Am I a gouache or a gouge? A fun treasure hunt in the exhibition halls looking for ancient games, tangled scribbles and mysterious engravings. Found the treasure, all at work to create an extraordinary graphic work: designing the drawing, digging with the gouges and creating a true matrix for endless prints!

The exhibition is closed on Monday.
