Art and mental health. The art brut exhibition "L'immaginario svelato" and the photographic exhibition of Enzo Cei dedicated to mental distress and his quitidianity arrive at the Lazzareschi di Porcari Foundation. Both exhibitions will open on Friday 20 September at 11:30.

L'immaginario svelato - arte irregolare (The unveiled imagination - irregular art): around 40 works are involved, some of which will be exhibited in the Lucca Jazz Donna festival. A different art, made by people with mental disabilities. This is what in the Anglo-Saxon world is called outsider art, in Italy renamed "irregular art" or "art brut". Many names to describe a unique artistic expression, which tells the inner world of people with mental problems who have had the opportunity to express themselves in figurative arts laboratories, in day centers and in the residences of Lucca and Versilia. The works have been selected by Nadia Buonamici and Giuliana Batignani, both art-therapists of the cooperative.

Photographic exhibition: the 30 shots of Enzo Cei tell the life of people with mental illness in three sections: "Lives" on the dismissal of the former psychiatric hospital of Maggiano, "Case" on the new residency of Mental Health, up to "Projects" with the inclusion of these people in the world of work.

In all about 70 works, exhibited from 20 to 26 September from Monday to Friday at 9:00 am / 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm / 6:00 pm.
