The exhibition "Beyond the unexplored spaces. On the tracks of Jules Verne "is born from the selected tables at the" Competition for Illustrators and Cartoonists Lucca Junior 2018 ", now in its twelfth edition and this year dedicated to the great French writer, to celebrate the 190 years since its birth (February 8, 1828) presented for the first time in the course of the Lucca Comics and Games event, it is presented today in the spaces of the Agora cloister.

The competition, sponsored by the Association of Authors of Images (AI) and open to illustrators and professional and non-professional designers, has seen the participation of almost 500 Italian artists or residents in Italy. Among all the tables received, the Jury - composed by the President Livio Sossi (Literature Teacher for the Infancy) and by the jurors Paolo D'Altan (illustrator), Lucia Emilia Stipari (pym studio) and Gaia Stock (Edizioni EL, Einaudi Ragazzi , Emme Edizioni) - has selected the 33 works that have become part of this evocative journey through images that, we hope, will fascinate the large and small visitors to the exhibition.

A short trip to the rediscovery of the genius of Jules Verne, through the suggestions that the selected artists have found in his life and his works. An illustrated homage to the "poet of the prodigies", as Guido Gozzano called it in the poetry dedicated to him, which also inspired the title of the exhibition.
