David Finkbeiner, was born in the state of Oregon, America and grew up between Idaho, Washington and Oregon. He completed his education at the University of California in San Francisco and in 1965 moved to New York, where he taught for 30 years at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
After twenty years he chose to stop commuting between the US and Tuscany where he spent his summers, and in 1999 he finally decided to move to Lucca for the sake of art.

On Saturday, June 24, at 6 pm, the exhibition of this American artist, originally from Oregon, who has chosen to move to the Lucca countryside, is inaugurated at the Banca del Monte Foundation exhibition hall in Lucca.

Conquered by the beauties of the area, by nature and fascinated by culture and traditions, after renovating a farmhouse he set up his studio at Tempagnano. His works are present in the collections of major American museums such as the Smithsonian National Collection of the Arts of Washington and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
