The association of the villas and palaces of Lucca, in national coordination with the association of parks and gardens of Italy, takes the opportunity to make the gardens known and to inform the public about the activities necessary to care for, restore and protect the gardens, which are an integral part of the Italian landscape and environmental heritage.

Saturday 1 June One of the greatest botanical scholars recognized by Professor Paolo Emilio Tomei and one of the most passionate and experienced garden creators, the journalist, founder of Gardenia and Orticola, of whom she is vice president, Francesca Marzotto Caotorta, will hold a conversation open also to interventions of the public dedicated to plants entitled The trees tell, and you don't know what. The conversation will be preceded by the history of the garden of Palazzo Pfanner told by Dario Pfanner and the introductory greeting to the weekend dedicated to the gardens by the president Avpl and national councilor Apgi, Donna Vittoria Colonna.

Sunday 2 June at the park of Villa Reale there will instead be an extraordinary visit entitled A dive back in time - Back to the 20s with the theater company the Ring: with a double deception it will be able to bring the participants back to the 20s of the 900 in the gardens of Villa Reale.
The event A dive back in time - Back to the 20s will consist of a "played" walk through the 20s of the garden and the "double deception" show that will catapult participants in the middle of an event that could be occurred in the villa at the beginning of the 20th century.
For the "played" walk the company will make a real dive into the past. Simulating the use of a device that makes time travel, it will lead participants to experience Villa Reale among characters and events that characterized it in the early twentieth century. They will introduce Prince Matto, Mimì Pecci Blunt, Greber and the illustrious guests who used to enjoy themselves in the park as Dalì and Moravia.

Anecdotes and characters will give life to avenues and gardens. The participants will feel like rubbing shoulders with those characters, as if they were really there!

The tour of the Lucca gardens continues in the villas that have joined this day: Villa Oliva in San Pancrazio and Villa Torrigiani di Camigliano, named The most beautiful park in Italy 2018.
