Presentation of the book Mostre permanenti. Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti in un secolo di esposizioni, curated by Silvia Massa and Elena Pontelli, published by Edizioni Fondazione Ragghianti Studies on art.

Paolo Bolpagni, director of the Ragghianti Foundation, introduces and coordinates the presentation. Speakers include Alberto Fontana, president of the Ragghianti Foundation, Franca Varallo, associate professor of Museology and art criticism and restoration at the University of Turin, and Emanuele Pellegrini, associate professor of art history at the IMT Alti Studi Lucca School.

To present the book, Silvia Massa and Elena Pontelli, PhD students in Analysis and Management of Cultural Heritage at the IMT Alti Studi School, who, as part of the Museology course, found themselves dealing with a subject that had been studied up until then only marginally, so much so as to give impetus to a broader project, aimed at investigating in its complexity the figure of Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti as organizer and promoter of art exhibitions, through a systematic analysis of this activity of the historian of art of Lucca.

The volume is therefore the result of an overall reflection on the exhibition activity that during the twentieth century saw the protagonist Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti, who, starting from the 1940s, conceived, organized and promoted exhibitions of extremely heterogeneous content, making use of a dense network of collaborators and international contacts. Based on a documentary research based on the recent reorganization of archival materials - mostly still unpublished - preserved by the Ragghianti Foundation, the study contributes to the mapping of a fundamental segment of Italian and European 20th century exhibition history.
