Narrow streets, cloisters, gardens and unexpected corners of Lucca are the theme of urban trekking 2019.

City life and its beautiful aspects can be discovered in multiple ways. An alternative route, different from the classic tourist routes, can be very suggestive. A slow walk will take us into the heart of Lucca's history, with small unexpected secrets that could surprise you just around the corner.

Serena stone and red bricks, lemon trees and boxwood hedges, the mathematical perfection of medieval cloisters, the water of the Via dei Fossi canal, the brightness of white marble and the darkness of the wall's underground. A journey inside and outside Lucca's society at the turn of the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance period, in a tangle of alleys in the working-class area, squares and sumptuous gardens of palaces of rich silk merchants.
